Itinerary

Complete Itinerary: Maras and Moray Cycling Tour

  • 08:30 - 09:00 a.m.: Hotel Pickup and Transfer: We begin the adventure with direct pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We will board our private tourist transport and travel along the Sacred Valley route to the Chancadora sector, near the district of Chinchero, located at 3,873 m.a.s.l.
  • 10:00 a.m.: Technical Briefing and Practice Session: Upon arrival at the starting point, the expert guide will provide full safety equipment and your mountain bike. We will conduct a short practice session and a technical briefing on brake usage and riding on unpaved roads.
  • 10:30 a.m.: Cycling Descent and Visit to Moray: We begin the cycling descent passing near the calm waters of Huaypo Lagoon through a scenic dirt road. We continue riding until we reach the Inca agricultural laboratory of Moray. Here, we will enjoy a guided visit to understand the engineering of its circular terraces and take a restorative break.
  • 12:00 p.m.: Ride to Maras Village and Salt Mines: We continue cycling through the colonial community of Maras. From there, we begin an exciting technical descent along an unpaved road to the famous Salt Mines (Salineras). We will enjoy a guided walk to appreciate over 3,000 salt pools where local people have traditionally harvested salt since pre-Inca times.
  • 01:00 p.m.: Final Descent to the Valley and Free Lunch Time: We finish the cycling section descending to the Pichingoto bridge, eventually arriving in Urubamba at the bottom of the valley, where the cycling route concludes. Free time to rest.
  • 03:00 p.m.: Return to Cusco: We board our tourist transport for the return journey to the city of Cusco.
  • 05:00 p.m.: End of Tour: Arrival in Cusco city center and final drop-off near your hotel.

No, entrance tickets are not included in the tour price. To enter the Moray agricultural site, you will need the Cusco Tourist Ticket (partial or general). For the Maras Salt Mines, payment is made directly in cash at the local community control booth.

There is no need to worry. Our support tourist transport (van) accompanies the group along accessible points of the route. If at any moment you feel tired, you can board the support vehicle and rest while the rest of the group continues the tour.

The minimum recommended age is 12 years old, as long as the child is tall enough to safely handle a standard-size mountain bike and is under the direct supervision of a parent or responsible adult.

We provide modern mountain bikes (MTB) equipped with front suspension to absorb impacts on uneven terrain. Additionally, individual safety equipment is included: an adjustable cycling helmet and protective gloves.

A minimum of 2 people is required for the group service at the standard rate. If you are traveling alone, you can check availability to join an already scheduled group on your preferred date or choose our exclusive private service option.
