Experience the magic of the ancient Inca civilization with our carefully organized 1-Day Machu Picchu Tour. Designed for travelers who want to visit one of the New Seven Wonders of the World without staying overnight, this tour combines comfort, efficiency, and unforgettable scenery. Travel through the breathtaking Sacred Valley aboard a panoramic train, admire spectacular views of the Andes, and enjoy seamless transfers that allow you to focus entirely on the experience.
Upon arrival, an expert local guide will lead you through the incredible Inca citadel, revealing the fascinating history, architecture, and mysteries of Machu Picchu while you visit its most iconic temples, terraces, and viewpoints. Our programs preferably include the highly sought-after Machu Picchu Circuit 2 Ticket, widely considered the most complete route for exploring the archaeological site. Due to its popularity, this circuit may sell out well in advance. If Circuit 2 is unavailable at the time of booking confirmation, we will secure Circuit 3 as the next best option, or Circuit 1 if necessary, always ensuring the best available entrance so you can enjoy an unforgettable visit to this world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site before returning comfortably to Cusco the same day.
* Important: The indicated schedules are approximate and may vary depending on availability and the train service selected at the time of booking.
Our adventure begins early in the morning with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. We will travel by tourist transport through the Sacred Valley to the picturesque Ollantaytambo train station. From there, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), enjoying spectacular Andean landscapes and high jungle scenery.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our team will assist you in boarding the Consettur bus that takes us up to the majestic archaeological park of Machu Picchu. Once inside, we will explore the citadel with an expert guide, who will reveal the history, mysteries, and incredible Inca architecture.
In the afternoon, we will take the return bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time before boarding the return train to Ollantaytambo. Finally, our staff will be waiting to take you safely back to your hotel in Cusco, concluding a truly unforgettable experience.
We recommend booking at least 1 to 2 months in advance. However, if you plan to travel during the high season (May to September), we suggest booking 3 to 4 months in advance to secure the main circuits and the most convenient train schedules, as availability is limited and sells out quickly
To protect the citadel, the Ministry of Culture prohibits entry with: tripods, drones, selfie sticks, professional filming equipment without authorization, food, disposable plastic bottles, alcoholic beverages, high-heeled or hard-soled shoes (only sneakers allowed), large umbrellas, and baby strollers
No, it is considered an “Easy” difficulty tour. Most of the journey is done in comfortable transportation (bus and train). The only physical effort is the guided walk inside the citadel, which lasts approximately 2.5 hours at a moderate pace with regular stops for photos and explanations
The most essential item is your original ID document (passport or DNI). We also recommend bringing a small backpack with a windbreaker jacket, rain poncho, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, a cap, a camera, water in a reusable bottle, and extra cash (Peruvian soles) for minor expense
No, these additional hikes are not recommended on the 1-day (Full Day) tour. Climbing Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain takes 2 to 3 extra hours, which conflicts with train schedules and leaves very little time to explore the citadel. If you wish to do these hikes, we recommend our 2-day Machu Picchu tour instead
