Experience an action-packed day in the Peruvian Andes with an exciting combination of whitewater rafting and ziplining on the beautiful Chuquicahuana River. This unforgettable tour is designed for adventure lovers who want to enjoy the thrill of navigating exhilarating rapids while surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes. Whether you're traveling with friends, family, or as a solo explorer, this experience offers the perfect blend of adrenaline, nature, and outdoor fun just a short distance from Cusco.
Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco as we travel through scenic Andean valleys toward the district of Cusipata. Upon arrival at our exclusive private camp, conveniently located on the banks of the Chuquicahuana River, you'll have time to relax and prepare for the activities ahead. Our facilities include changing rooms, restrooms, showers, and comfortable areas where you can safely store your belongings and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before the adventure begins.
Before entering the river, our professional rafting guides will provide a comprehensive safety briefing and equip you with all the necessary gear, including a wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, splash jacket, and paddle. Once everyone is ready, you'll embark on an exciting rafting journey through thrilling Class II, III, and depending on the season, Class III+ rapids. Working together as a team, you'll paddle through fast-moving waters, enjoy refreshing splashes, and admire the spectacular scenery that makes the Chuquicahuana River one of the best rafting destinations near Cusco.
After completing the rafting experience, you'll return to our riverside camp to recharge before continuing with the next adventure. Feel the excitement soar as you glide across the valley on an incredible zipline, taking in panoramic views of the river, surrounding mountains, and lush landscapes from above. This thrilling aerial experience is the perfect way to conclude an unforgettable day of adventure in the heart of the Andes.
This full-day adventure is ideal for travelers looking to combine outdoor sports, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable memories during their visit to Cusco. With experienced guides, quality equipment, and a safe environment, you can simply relax and enjoy one of the most exciting adventure tours the region has to offer.
The difficulty level is Moderate (Class II and III rapids). During the rainy season (November through April), the river swells and the rapids can reach Class III and IV, offering a greater adrenaline rush while maintaining high safety standards.
Basic swimming and floating skills are recommended; however, the use of high-buoyancy life jackets and the constant guidance of our safety kayakers ensure the safety of all passengers.
The recommended minimum age is 12, due to the nature of the adventure activities and the strength of the river rapids. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must sign a waiver before the activity begins.
The tour includes a nutritious and hearty lunch prepared at our private camp using local ingredients. If you have any dietary restrictions, are vegetarian or vegan, or have any allergies, please let us know when you make your reservation so we can prepare a special menu at no additional cost.
Is the tour canceled if it rains? The kayaking tour goes ahead as scheduled even in the rain, since the equipment provided (wetsuit and windbreaker) is designed to maintain body temperature. Activities are only canceled or rescheduled if the relevant authorities or our guides determine that the river level poses an extreme weather risk.
Yes, our zipline course uses high-strength steel cables and internationally certified pulleys. In addition, we use dual safety cable systems (lifelines) and full-body harnesses, which are thoroughly inspected by our technical team before each session.
The standard tour does not include a photography service. However, a professional photographer usually accompanies the group from the shore or in a safety kayak to capture the best moments on the rapids. At the end of the tour, you can optionally purchase the digital photo and video package directly at the camp.
