Recommendations

  • It is mandatory to carry your original ID document or valid passport.
  • Bring warm, waterproof, and thermal clothing due to the changing high-altitude weather (thick jacket, scarf, warm gloves, and hats).
  • We strongly recommend wearing trekking shoes or sneakers for the final 25-minute hike.
  • Bring a small backpack to carry your camera, sunglasses, hat, high-protection sunscreen, and a bottle of mineral water.
  • During the months of October to March (rainy season), it is essential to bring a plastic rain poncho or extra waterproof clothing.
  • Bring extra cash, preferably in soles, for minor or unexpected expenses along the route.

Faqs

A formal driver's license is not required, as our Yamaha Grizzly ATVs are fully automatic and easy to operate. Before setting out on the trail in the Labrayani area, our technical staff will provide you with a detailed explanation and a short practice session to help you become familiar with the controls.

The main advantage of this tour is that it replaces the strenuous 2-hour hike along the traditional route with an ATV ride. Upon arriving at the base of Qosqopata, there is only a light, relatively flat walk of about 25 minutes to reach the main viewpoint of the Mountain of Seven Colors.

The summit of Vinicunca reaches 5,100 meters above sea level. At this altitude, the weather is cold and the air is thinner. It is extremely important to have spent at least 1 or 2 days acclimatizing in Cusco before taking the tour. Our team always travels equipped with first-aid kits and oxygen tanks to provide immediate assistance if you experience symptoms of altitude sickness.

ATVs are designed for individual use for safety reasons in mountainous terrain. A minimum age of 12 to 14 years is recommended for independent riding, always under parental supervision. Older adults may participate in this activity provided they are in good health and able to handle the handlebars on dirt roads.
